Hockey was first played at the 1908 Olympics and has been played at every Games since 1928. Women first played in 1980 and have played at every Games since.

Udham Singh 1948–1956
Dhyan Chand 1928–1936
Ranganathan Francis 1948–1956
Randhir Singh Gentle 1948–1956
Balbir Singh Sr. 1948–1956

Leslie Claudius and Udham Singh also won silver medals in 1960.

The only woman to have won three gold medals is Rechelle Hawkes who was in all three of Australia’s gold medal winning teams.
