Triathlon:Olympic Records

Triathlon was only introduced into the Olympic Games in 2000.

There has been no winner of the Olympic triathlon who has repeated the feat.

The nearest anyone has come is Simon Whitfield (Canada) who won in 2000 and was 2nd in 2008.  The only other triathlete to win two medals is Bevan Docherty (New Zealand) who won silver in 2004 and bronze in 2008. No woman has won more than one medal.

The different nature of courses in Triathlon means that comparing times is unreliable. The best times are recorded as an Olympic Best rather than an Olympic Record.

The Olympic Best Times are:

Men – Alistair Brownlee (GB)  1 hour 46 minutes 25 seconds in London 2012

Women  – Emma Snowshill (Aus) 1 hour 58 minutes 27.66 seconds in Beijing 2008.
