Over the years there have been many attempts to compile lists of the best boxers in history. Some of the more authoritative attempts of recent years are given here.

In 2007 ESPN compiled a list of the 50 greatest boxers of all-time. For more details on their careers go to ESPN’s 50 Greatest fighters.
