The Big Sports Quiz of The Year 2017 (Part One) – Fifty questions about the Sporting Year in the World and Britain which start easy but get more difficult the further you go

This year  I have decided for a change that instead of a list of the winners of the various events I will set a quiz.

Here are fifty questions about sporting events in 2017 and in particular who won some of the major events.

The questions are in groups of ten starting with very easy ones about the most well-known winners. The next group of ten questions is a little harder and the third even more difficult until the final group of ten which will really test the knowledge of the biggest sports fan. If you get 6 or more out of 10 correct in a group you should be ready to attempt the next group.  The first ten are so easy that I decide to add a supplementary question to test you further which vary in difficulty but are probably around level 3 or 4.  There is a geographical mix of questions but a good number are about British sport.

The questions are across a large number of sports and in the second part of the quiz which I shall post next week there will be some even harder questions on more obscure sports for anyone who has completed level 4 successfully.
